[dropcap]B[/dropcap]efore we move on to Noirvember, let’s keep the spirit of Halloween alive (or ghoulishly dead) for just a bit longer, as I finally share some of my all time favourite horror movies with you. It’s a genre I enjoy throughout the year, but as you know, it’s tradition for me to hold the October Horror Project, where I watch as many gems from the genre as I can.
In this edition I’ve seen three that became instant favourites: Possession (1981),Thirst (2009), and The Haunting (1963). For Halloween I rewatched The Shining (1980) not just because I love it, but also because, with the neighbourhood kids trick or treating all night, I knew I’d pause it more times that you should during the first watch of any movie.
You can check out my ever growing list of favourite horror movies, knowing that I have these yet to watch. So if one of your favourites is missing, chances are they’re in one of those two lists!

Dracula (1931) is the epitome of horror (for me, at least). I’m so glad it made your list!
Didn’t think twice about it – Dracula was an absolute must in this list!
As far as suggestions go: The Blackcoat’s Daughter (2015) impressed me as much as The VVitch.
Thank you K, forgot about that one! I’m curious to see how Shipka fares outside Mad Men. Added to my watchlist ?
