Zou Bisou: Keira Knightley

English actress and model born in London, 1985. Keira Knightley may fit like a glove in period dramas, but she actually comes across as a very modern, chic woman. The thing I love the most about her characters is how feminine, fragile and strong they look. I know many say she’s a one-face actress, but (a) they’re wrong, and (b) who cares when her face looks like that.
She has played some of my favorite characters in Doctor Zhivago, Pride and Prejudice, and Anna Karenina. Also worth a watch is Atonement, a strikingly beautiful film. Didn’t care all that much for The Duchess nor A Dangerous Method, but the cast makes up for the plot’s flaws. Never Let Me Go is loved by many, and you probably have already seen Love, Actually. One that I completely adore and think she looks incredible is Last Night (which also supports the moder-chic argument). Also, she was in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Maybe I’m the last person to learn this, but it is news to me.
In the near future you can see Knightley in Can a Song Save Your Life?, co-starring with Catharine Keener and Mark Ruffalo, which could be interesting (extra: Adam Levine is also in it), and Jack Ryan, which I probably won’t be watching.
