The Blind Spot Challenge: 2016 Edition

When fellow bloggers warned me of how difficult it can be to do this series I thought “Oh please, a movie a month? Soooooo hard – right.” Well here I am, one year and 90 movies later, with only three Blind Spots watched. I don’t even know how that happened! I watched nearly a hundred films, surely twelve shouldn’t have been a problem?!

So yeah, I failed – I mean, FAILED – but damn it if I’m not gonna set that goal for myself again. Because the truth is, some of these films are still missing from a little list I started three years ago (the list of shame, remember that one?), and that means they’re absolute cinematic gems that I (and everyone) should watch in their lifetime. So get on board and challenge the movie lover in you, even if you’re not a blogger! The goal is to watch a movie a month, and share your experience either on your blog or social networks.

this year’s blindspots:
Metropolis 1927
M. 1931
Top Hat 1935
Citizen Kane 1941
Sorry, Wrong Number 1948
Det Sjunde Inseglet (The Seventh Seal) 1957
À Bout De Souffle (Breathless) 1960
Lawrence of Arabia 1962
Dr. Strangelove or: […] 1964
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly 1966
Persona 1966
Se, Jie (Lust, Caution) 2007

the blind spot series was first seen on The Matinee

SO glad you like Sorry Wrong Number! I’ve stumbled upon it some time ago and been excited about it ever since, but wasn’t sure if it was as good as I hoped it was. 😀

The good news Is that I just noticed this and added you to the blogroll on the 2016 Blindspot Post…the bad news is, you’re already one film behind ;)…the other good news is that I continue to add links as time goes one, so whenever you get to watching your first selection, let me know and I’ll add it to the January post.

    boa sorte, Sofia!

Ha ha, i know what you mean. I did 5 blindspots and finally gave up. I would at least like to do a few blindspots a year. I just don’t know if I can commit to 12! I love your list. I love Lawrence of Arabia. It’s a film I wish I could have seen in theaters.

It sounds easy, but it’s not! I guess the prospect of writing about such great films is also a little scary because it sometimes it feels like everything has been said already.
